After hearing the brilliant single Stars (featuring Anneka) earlier this month, today I was finally treated to the rest of the much anticipated Starkey full length, Ear Drums And Black Holes (Planet Mu). Stars, a most sublime of production, focuses on Anneka's angel-like vocal performance, and left me wanting more.

This track really sets the pace on what is another great post-dubstep record this year, following Scuba's latest Triangulations. On Ear Drums And Black Holes, this Philadelphia native explores a rather dreamy synth driven narrative, as boomkat puts it; "[most of] the album comes off like he's spent the last 12 months listening to The Dream". Productions here sometimes sound otherworldly as Starkey takes us on a sonic adventure through what often sounds like a futurist role playing game soundtrack from beyond.
Highly recommended
