This time spent alone here has given me the chance to explore some interesting things. First of all, these non-perishable food meals are pretty damned good, I might run out of diced tomatoes faster than anticipated... Secondly, I have observed a singular member of The New Pornographers and another from The Black Keys each issuing upcoming solo albums.

A.C. Newman: definately a dog person
A.C. Newman of the New Pornographers wants us to Get Guilty coming out of the Matador Records womb today, January 20th. his second effort promises to be better than the collective efforts of TNP, surprisingly enough. This album of almost-typical indie canadiana will be sure to remind us all that the west coast still has what it takes to rival the mighty Montreal collectives(that do not need to be mentioned here).

Dan Auerbach attacked by a Flying V!
And then we have Dan Auerbach, one half of the Black Keys, releasing Keep It Hid through Nonesuch records on February 10th. It was during the tour supporting the launch of Attack & Release that Auerback wrote the material that would populate this new record. The man explores a wide array of sounds, while keeping his signature reverb/distortion drenched guitar and vocals throughout. This remains a Black Keys sounding album, sort of. Continuing the ode to the greats of another era...
