On October 20th 2008, AC/DC is unleashing the worldwide release of their newest record entitled Black Ice, coincidentally the name of a cheap strong beer here in Canada, albeit missing the word Label from the equation (still worth pointing out though).
Got Crack?
There is one thing that intrigues me about this band: how they managed to change singers and yet maintain that vocal sound of a post throat-cancer choking pig. After Bon Scott died in 1980, they thought they were lost! Alas, Brian Johnson stepped up to the plate and was able to accurately replicate Bon Scott's sound, like if there was any pride involved in that...
All that to say that on the new album, Brian Johnson still somehow manages to sound like a second time recovering throat cancer survivor. Or bad Robert Plant imitation?
They basically haven't changed their sound in 30 fucking years! The drums are still what first time drummers would learn to play as they are overly simplistic and who knows, maybe even performed by a monkey? The formula is the same as usual. Catchy guitar riffs, with bland percussion and rock and roll themed lyrics (they manage to mention the words Rock and Roll a total of 4 times in song titles).
Back in the 70s, AC/DC were somewhat considered pioneers, with a few platinum records under their belts, their legacy is unquestionable. This new effort however officially classifies them as a novelty act. The new album is what I would classify as a "cash grab comeback", meaning that, the band members, low on cash, decide to record some songs to sell to their neanderthal fans. There is absolutely nothing new here, this is basically complete and utter garbage created to line the pockets of a few record execs and most importantly the band members. All the power to them I guess. Do yourself a favor this October 20th, and don't waste your hard earned moneys on a copy of this monstrosity.
I am the Destroyer.
sounds like someone is jealous.
ReplyDeleteyeah seriously, they are one of the best classic rock bands ever. and you are a nobody.
ReplyDeleteacdc has basically been producing the same song for about, mmm, 20 years now?
ReplyDeleteLOL. You present an interesting case, but let's not forget this...THEY STILL SELL ALBUMS! They still sell out stadiums! Point is, the fans don't care if they've been doing the same chords for 30 years! They're GREAT chords!! And don't get me started on how good a fully cranked SG sounds in an angry Mashall!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna destroy YOU!
ReplyDeletehaha um they are great I seein them in concert 4 times and I was at donnington back in the day and there great brian johnson is a bad ass and every body else they fuckin rock I guess you dont have good taste in music!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou poor little ignorant bastard
ReplyDeleteWhat a ridiculous reason to hate one of the world's greatest guitars. I'm guessing that you don't play guitar much.
ReplyDeletefuck up bitch
ReplyDeletekiss my ass

DeleteYeah they sell albums but what, lousy ones and people who listen to them are probably lousy too.
ReplyDeletePeople who like AC/DC? Assholes.
ReplyDeleteFuck all you ignorant people who don't think AC/DC are nothing short of epic. A proper rock band who just do what they want to do rather then trying to fit in with some stupid fucking crowd of morons cos the record label wants them to they just do what they do best. You try playing Angus Young solo's and then say they're shit... you try singing like bon and brian with power like they do... who cares if some of the Rhythm is easy to play (Although theres more to the little details in it than you idiots realise) cos its sounds awesome. So FUCK YOU ALL if you don't like them. Go Shoot yourselves so the world can just have people with good music taste.
ReplyDeleteACDC rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI Hope You get Testicular Cancer And Die Horribly All Those People Who say AC/DC Are Shit. They've been around longer than your mothers have been sucking cock
ReplyDeleteTell you what, when you make your first album and make millions off it you can bag them out. Until then I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Yeah same chords etc, but incredibly difficult rhythm to learn and play properly. I'll think you find the reason they had such a long break was because they needed to take some time out. That band has practically lived on the road. Not to mention Brian needed sometime out due to problems with his throat. They could quit tomorrow and live comfortably for the rest of their lives, something which you clearly are jealous of. Instead of sitting on your computer bagging out people that have worked hard to get where they are now, why not do something worthwhile with your life. Let me know when you make your first million.
ReplyDeletehaha cool. I just realized all these cute comments have been made since i posted this. amazing.
ReplyDeleteDear ACϟDC, Please favor your legion of loyal fans with one more concert and you will see me in the front row or I will see you on my favorite TV screen
